Gardener, broadcaster and writer Alan Titchmarsh often gets asked about whether he has passed his green fingers on down the generations. Here's his answer. One of my most frequently-asked questions is ‘And are your children interested in gardening?’ and my response is always the same: ‘They’ve always said they couldn’t live anywhere that wasn’t green.’ A busy bumblebee full of soul. Beckett brings great energy and a lot of warmth to his friends in Adventure Dales. Love Your GardenChildren can learn new skills, have fun, play and develop self-confidence by spending time in the garden tending plants and growing their own food. Most children enjoy being outdoors and love digging in the soil, getting dirty, creating things and watching plants grow. As children garden, they develop important motor skills that will help them improve their academic skills such as writing, cutting and typing. It's a well-known fact that if you engage children in growing their own vegetables, they gain a keen interest in eating them too. Young children are very curious to learn about the environment that surrounds them, and being in the garden provides the opportunity to explore different smells, senses and tastes. The garden also encourages physical activity, which is fundamental in the development of movement skills. Green Bean & FriendsGreen Bean lives in Adventure Dales along with friends, Mr Bear, Rosie, Beckett, Bobby, Fleur and Harley. Each character has a custom made woodland home which has a human-style kitchen, human-style furniture, and a local school where Rosie teaches various subjects that include numeracy, literacy, and cooking.
