A Note for Parents of Children Under Two
While Storytime is a wonderful bonding experience, please note that we do not advise children under two years old to use tablets, phones, or sit alone watching TV.
For children under two, we recommend:

• Guardian Preview: Partner guardians should watch a clip beforehand to learn the tone and rhythm of reading Green Bean Books.
• Audio Focus: Alternatively, simply play the audio through your phone, focusing on sound engagement rather than the screen.​​

Our recommendation against screen time before the age of two aligns with developmental advisory guidelines. We understand that children will have plenty of time to enjoy technology as they grow. Their young minds are sensitive and developing rapidly. Feeding them with wholesome human interaction, such as play, fun learning, and outdoor exploration, provides a vital foundation for their early years.

Why Limit Screen Time for Under-Twos?

• Developmental Delays: Passive viewing before age 2 can impede growth in language, social skills, and cognitive abilities.
• Physical Health: High screen time is linked to increased risk of obesity, poor sleep, and nearsightedness (myopia).
• Overstimulation: Fast-paced, bright, and loud screens can overstimulate babies, potentially leading to behavioral issues.

The World Health Organization (WHO) also supports this view, recommending no sedentary screen time for children under two, as human interaction is the optimal learning method. Instead of TV, prioritize active, hands-on play to boost brain development, movement, and language skills. If screens are used, they should be limited to video calls with family.
