Who is Mr Bear ™ Mr Bear is a fictional character who features in the Green Bean Collection, a series of collectable children’s books, toys, music and entertainment productions created by author Anita Frost. Mr Bear is Green Bean’s best friend. He is a cute and cuddly bear who lives in a wooden hut that he built himself in the forest within Adventure Dales – the fictional world where Green Bean & Friends learn and play together.  Mr Bear’s™ Best Friend - Green Bean™ Green Bean is the best buddy anyone could ask for! If you’re feeling down, Green Bean is always able to make you smile by saying something silly like “hello marshmallow”, or “what’s chuffin’ blueberry muffin?”, or “where’s your smile crocodile?”. Or goofing around by wearing a bucket as a helmet and using a spade as a sword, pretending to be a brave knight slaying dragons. - that was hilarious! Sometimes Green Bean will cheer you up by simply making you stop and appreciate the little things in life – like how shiny the sunbeams are, or lying at the top of ‘Tumbling Hill’ together to do some cloud spotting. Once we saw a cloud that was shaped like a donkey and Green Bean said “uh oh, looks cloudy with a chance of Hee-hawwww!” it was so funny I nearly rolled all the way down the hill laughing! Being around Green Bean makes everything feel a little brighter in life, even on days where things all seem to go wrong.

BEA is a programme that celebrates Black Heritage entrepreneurs in the UK and provides a platform for them to market their businesses to a wider audience. Black-led businesses frequently face disproportionate underfunding, with investment into Black founders less than 1% in 2023 (Diversity Beyond Gender 2023, Extend Ventures). This significant racial disparity in venture capital (VC) funding hinders many from making the necessary investments to grow their businesses. Our Black Entrepreneurs’ Awards programme aims to provide talented black-heritage entrepreneurs with access to funding, publicity, business workshops and mentoring to create a community of like-minded business owners.  What is the Black Entrepreneurs' Award?
BEA is a programme that celebrates Black Heritage entrepreneurs in the UK and provides a platform for them to market their businesses to a wider audience. Each year there are four winners who receive a cash prize of £25,000 each, and all of the finalists are enrolled on a bespoke 12-month business acceleration programme, designed to support Black Heritage entrepreneurs and accelerate the growth of their start-ups. Created in 2018, BEA has supported 36 black heritage founders to accelerate the growth of their business. Some of our previous finalists have gone on to raise over £3m; expanded their business overseas; been listed on the Forbes 30 under 30; and received MBEs for their services in making venture capital more inclusive.
