Football, scooters and friendship what more could a little green bean ask for...
Scooter play for kids benefits It has a lean to steer function, learning to shift their weight from side to side to turn. This gives them more awareness of their body and improves coordination. The scooter helps strengthen their muscles being active and using them in new ways. Motor Skill Development Scooting requires the rider to use the arms and legs independently from each other helping to fine tune their motor skills. One foot kicks while the other balances, and the hands are on the handlebar balancing the scooter. All this occurs while the head and eyes are watching where they are heading and looking around for possible obstacles. If the child wants to stop, they will use one foot to press the rear fender brake pad, while simultaneously turning the scooter, or slowing enough to safely put the other foot on the ground. Get Outdoors Go play outside! Parents love to hear and see the kids playing outside more rather than on their computers. In addition to the social skills being developed, a quick go on your scooter, gets those muscles developed and you get some fresh air! National Storytelling Week takes place every year and is a celebration of the power of sharing stories. Stories teach us about the world, they allow us to step into someone else’s shoes and feel empathy, they help us to relax and escape and they can help develop essential literacy skills. In 2022, nearly 2 in 5 (37.5%) children and young people said they enjoyed listening to audio either very much or quite a lot (find out more in this research report) We’re passionate about encouraging children’s writing and storytelling - why not download our Green Bean Writing Paper and get your children to make up their own stories?
