Write your own Easter Adventure Time to flex your storytelling skills! Write an Easter Adventure Story using our Green Bean writing paper which you can download here: ADD LINK HERE. What exciting adventure could the friends get up to in Adventure Dales this Easter? Green Bean's missing egg? Rosie's hot cross bun special recipe? Follow the bunny tracks with Mr Bear? These are some titles you and your little ones could use to make up your own story. There’s plenty more ideas than Easter egg hunts to entertain the kids over the Easter holidays. We’ve put together some easy, affordable ideas to inspire you and give you some quality family time together away from digital distractions! Easter Egg Collage First, collect any old magazines, newspapers, and catalogues – the free food magazines you get from supermarkets are ideal! Draw a large egg shape on some paper, then get your children to cut or tear pictures and patterns from the magazines and create their own easter egg collage by sticking down inside the egg shape. Go on a Scavenger Hunt Get the children outdoors and explore the garden with a fun scavenger hunt to test their logic and creative thinking skills. Start off by choosing a list of 5–10 different objects around the garden, then think of an age appropriate clue for each one. For example, for the object ‘watering can’ the clue could be ‘I have a long spout and help thirsty plants’. Alternatively, you could create a list with items to tick off such as ‘flower, insect, bird, something that smells nice’ etc. Check out this blog for plenty more scavenger hunt inspiration: Salt Dough Decorations Make some beautiful handmade Easter decorations out of salt dough. Once the dough is made, roll out and use cookie cutters to make different shapes - or go free style and cut shapes by hand using a knife! Place the shapes on an old newspaper or greaseproof paper and put them somewhere warm and dry overnight. When the shapes have dried out, they will be ready to paint and decorate. Children can be as creative as they like with this, using paints, glitter and cutting and sticking other materials on to decorate them. Once they are finished, you can hang them up around the house, or even give them to friends and relatives as Easter gifts! Here’s a recipe for making your own salt dough: Make an Easter Headband Measure around your child’s head using a piece of string. Then with an A4 piece of paper, cut a strip about 2 inches wide, using the measurement you took with the string to get it the right length. Make the strip into a band and glue the ends together. Next, cut out two bunny ear shapes. Your child can have fun colouring and decorating the headband and ears with paints, stickers, chalk, glitter, collage, and even natural materials such as feathers, leaves and twigs. Once completed, stick these to the front of the headband. This activity gives plenty of opportunity for some imaginative Easter inspired play time!
