We're excited to share some great news regarding the UK's creative industries! A new Creative Industries Sector Plan has been released, promising a significant £380 million boost to drive innovation, regional growth, and investment. This plan aims to make the UK the top global destination for creativity and innovation investment, with a goal to substantially increase investment by 2035. Anita Frost, founder of Green Bean Studios, shared her thoughts on this development: "It's wonderful to see a plan in place, and execution is everything. Green Bean Studios was founded just before the pandemic. Now, as we approach our fifth anniversary, we have walked through the challenges of accessing investment and experienced a lack of scale-up support locally that hinders result-driven growth." Despite these challenges, Green Bean Studios has successfully created an original IP character called Green Bean. Designed to be a household friend for children under five, Green Bean teaches play, learning, and fun adventures, offering multiple revenue opportunities. Our methods, founded on the founder's 20+ years of child development expertise, are already achieving positive child behaviour modification for children under five. As part of the Plan for Change, the UK's leading creative industries are recognised worldwide as a major driver of economic growth, contributing £124 billion annually to our economy and employing 2.4 million people across the UK. Over the last decade, the sector has grown its output more than one and a half times faster than the rest of the economy. Culture Secretary Lisa Nandy commented: "Our creative industries are powerful economic drivers in this country. By placing them at the heart of our Industrial Strategy, this Sector Plan, backed by £380 million of investment, will boost regional growth, stimulate private investment, and create thousands more high-quality jobs." She added, "This Sector Plan will help nearly double business investment to £31 billion by 2035, supporting our mission to raise living standards everywhere as part of our Plan for Change, ensuring the UK remains the world’s creative powerhouse." The £380 million in targeted funding will support innovation, access to finance, R&D, skills, and regional growth across the UK. The Sector Plan is set to nearly double business investment in creative industries to £31 billion by 2035 and will deliver 2,000 new film and TV apprenticeships. This initiative is part of the broader Industrial Strategy, which outlines the government's ten-year plan to make the UK the best place to do business and unlock growth as part of the Plan for Change. Additionally, a new Creative Content Exchange will serve as a marketplace for selling, buying, licensing, and enabling permitted access to digitised cultural and creative assets.
